Barnes VOR-TX 12 Gauge 3-inch expander-tipped slugs are single-projectile shotshells intended for use from slug barrels or rifled chokes where a single large projectile is required. These loads are specified with a heavy, expander-tipped projectile designed to provide controlled expansion and high retained weight for consistent terminal performance and predictable trajectory. Typical uses include field hunting and other situations calling for a rifled slug profile; they are not a multi-projectile shotshell.
