Hornady Varmint Express .17 Hornady Mach 2 (HM2) 17 gr V-MAX is a high-velocity rimfire load intended for varmint and small-game work and precision rimfire practice. The V-MAX polymer-tip bullet design promotes rapid fragmentation and consistent terminal performance at typical rimfire velocities. This load is specified to deliver approximately 2100 fps and about 166 ft·lbs of muzzle energy from a standard test barrel. Brass cases are used to support reliable feeding and extraction in rimfire platforms.
